Polynt has been active in the production, sales, research and development of organic anhydrides and their derivatives for over 60 years.

The Polynt Composites division of Polynt Group is the global leader for unsaturated polyesters and vinyl esters resins, with production sites in Americas, Europe and Asia. Polynt Composites is also the leading producer of gelcoats. Polynt Group’s global presence spans four continents with manufacturing and commercial facilities, allowing the company to provide its customers with innovative and sustainable solutions.

For the improvement or creation of new resins and/or gelcoats, Polynt Composites is the designated strategic partner with its dedicated R&D/Technical teams, laboratories and high-tech equipments covering markets’ needs. Polynt has the knowledge, know-how, specic analysis tools (for chemical and mechanical properties evaluation) and experience to accompany each of the products enhancements or innovations required to propose successful and sustainable market solutions.

From Polynt Composites’ laboratories were developed and commercialized intumescent fire resistance Fireblock™ resins and gelcoats, Low-Styrene Content (LSC) and Low-Styrene Emission (LSE) resins and gelcoats, sanitary gelcoats, Styrene-Free resins and Vinyl esters, food grade resins, bio-sourced resins, Gravicol® High-Performance bonding pastes and many more innovative solutions.

Polynt’s laboratories are very well equipped for chemical and mechanical analysis: from surface chemistry to analytical or mechanical evaluation, Polynt’s labs have the equipment to support any new development. Among the main analytical techniques we could mention: Heat Distortion Temperature (HDT), Infra-red spectroscopy (FT-IR), Gas Chromatography (GC), Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Di-erential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA), Thermomechanical Analysis (TMA), dynamometers for tensile/ exural tests, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and also Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) equipment. On the process side we have a number of reactors to go from lab-scale to pilot, then full industrial scale.

Polynt also has the internal knowledge and software to support in the realization of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies. LCAs can provide the Carbon Footprint (CO2 emissions) and overall environmental impact of resins developed. This service opens the possibility to compare with other products/technologies and to improve the environmental impact of new references launched: a signicant competitive advantage that Polynt can o-er to its customers.
