3RD EDITION OF THE DESIGN COMPETITION IS NOW OPEN FOR PROJECTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE EUROPEAN ALLIANCE FOR SMC BMC IS LAUNCHING THE 3RD EDITION OF THE SMC BMC DESIGN AWARD. THIS INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION IS RECOGNIZING AND PROMOTING DESIGN EXCELLENCE IN USING SMC AND BMC ADVANCED MATERIALS. THE THEME OF THIS EDITION IS SUSTAINABLE LIVING.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SMC and BMC are composite materials ideal for making large, light, and intricate parts that combine structural performance with a smooth surface finish. For that reason, SMC and BMC are increasingly used in a broad range of end-use applications and markets.<\/p>\n

NEW DESIGN COMPETITION<\/strong>
\nThe European Alliance for SMC BMC is now launching the 3rd edition of its well-known Design Competition, seeking ideas and proposals for using these versatile materials. \u201cWe would like to reinforce that SMC and BMC materials are innovative, cost effective and sustainable, bringing major benefits for consumers and end-users,<\/em>\u201d comments Joan Montobbio, Chairman of the Alliance Board. \u201cThe Alliance will support the winners in fine-tuning designs, improving part manufacturing-ability and business plans, and want to help them to bring their innovations to market.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s topic is Sustainable Living. \u201cWe like the design students to think on how to improve quality of life and reduce environmental footprint at the same time<\/em>\u201d, explains Thomas Wegman, Marketing Lead for the Alliance. \u201cWe believe young designers can help to create novel products and solutions for our living environment, with the challenge to keep us healthy, use less space, and minimize energy consumption.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

AWARD DETAILS AND REGISTRATION<\/strong>
\nThe SMC BMC Design Award 2022 is open for Design students and Young Design Professionals (less than 3 years of experience) living in Europe. Innovations entered into the SMC BMC Design Award will be judged by an independent Jury with expert members from both the Design community and the Composites industry.<\/p>\n

The Award has some interesting prices to win: total amount is \u20ac17.500, including a Gold Award (\u20ac7.500 in cash and \u20ac7.500 in coaching), Silver Award (\u20ac1.500), and Bronze Award (\u20ac1.000).<\/p>\n

\nThe European Alliance for SMC BMC is an industry association of European companies involved in the SMC and BMC technology, promoting the benefits of SMC BMC Composite solutions through:<\/p>\n

\n– Explaining the features and associated benefits
\n– Making available design information to engineers and designs
\n– Facilitating the information exchange at selected events<\/p>\n
